DRIVE WITHOUT LIMITS: STATE PERMITS MADE EASY
WEIGHT-DISTANCE PERMITS
Certain states require a special permit to travel within their borders. All carriers and owner-operators must register for these permits to travel and avoid penalties.
NEW YORK: A NY HUT certificate of registration is required for any truck, tractor, or other self-propelled vehicle with a gross weight over 18,000 pounds.
KENTUCKY: A KYU permit is a license issued for all carriers traveling on Kentucky roadways with a combined gross vehicle weight over 59,999 pounds.
NEW MEXICO: A NM permit is a weight-distance tax imposed on owners, operators, and registrants of intra and interstate commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 pounds. You must have a DOT number to purchase this permit.
CONNECTICUT: The CT permit is imposed on carriers and owner-operators with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 pounds.
OREGON: A temporary OR trip permit is issued to carriers with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 pounds and/or has 3 axles. The temporary permit is valid for 10 days.
